Las Vegas, where the light always shine, stood still in October, when the best of Africa Arts, music, fashion and culture was showcased at the 1st African Arts, Film, Tourism & Cultural Music Appreciation Gala & Awards Night.

It was a glorious moment for Africa as one of its best cultural artistes Fally Ipupa, the Congolese ,Soukous superstar ,thrilled the exquisitely dressed guests to his world famous songs. The event was headlined by Nigerian Afropop star-duo, Brackett who also wowed the audience at the world famous MGM Grand Resort, known for its hosting of some of the greatest boxing fights in history.

The event is the baby of Kenyan born dancer and former beauty queen, Grace Haukwa, CEO Nabtry entertainment, in conjunction with Dr. Akindele Kolade’s ProAscella Films & Productions and Matthew Okeke, MD, who owns the Grand Dessert Psychiatrist Center in West Las Vegas. The event was also supported by Africa Informer magazine, who were consultants to the event. Other coordinators were, Chris Usigbe (CEO Dvast Entertainment), Princess Blessing Obi, Vannessa Oparaugo and DJ Kdee. Celebrities who graced the event include, Michael Ndungu-DJ Focus, Cherif Ndiaye (Senegalese Supermodel), Miss GG, who was exciting on the red carpet. Also at the event was Aamito, the current Africa’s Next Super model winner.

Awards of Excellence for the promotion of African Values were presented to Dr. Godwin Maduka (Founder Las Vegas Pain Institute), Mrs. Eudorah Ozigbo (President Grace Care Center, Las Vegas), Dr. Akindele Kolade ( CEO Proascella Films & Productions / Cal Psychiatrist Services), Favor Chikelu (President Renewed Mind Wellness Center, Las Vegas), Fally Ipupa and Elias Makori ( Managing Editor The Nation Media Group Kenya).

Africa fashion was also showcased to the delight of everyone by Las Vegas based designer Lauretta Ita.
