For Ed Ejike Okpa, living the America dream is a done deal. His resume packs quite a punch; real estate guru; consultant to Democratic Republic of Congo and Oman governments; 1st African to vie for the Mayor ship of Dallas (his adopted home); member Harvard Alumni and a host of other elite clubs; high level politician; member of numerous governmental developmental boards in US. We could go on and on. For instance, he is an appointee of Texas Governor on Product Development and Business Incubator Board of Texas Economic Development Bank.  He desires to work with some state governments back in Nigeria and Africa on developmental initiatives, by adopting the Texas model.

His high profile connects has seen him being recently invited to one of the special annual luncheons hosted by former US president George W. Bush and his wife  at their magnificent Texas Ranch.

He and his wife recently hosted the current Governor of Texas, Gregory Wayne “Greg” Abbott, at their palatial home in Dallas, where many powerful Texans and others were in attendance. It was a quite an event, with top politicians, captains of industry, corporate decision makers and A list celebrities admiring his impeccable home. The get together had the like of Dallas County District Attorney Faith Johnson in attendance. She is the first African-American DA, appointed by Governor Greg Abbott.

Many praised his adorable wife Mrs Ibironke “Ronke” Olusanya-Okpa for being the perfect hostess.

For Ejike who emigrated to the US from Nigeria about 35 years ago, America has been so good.

Starting out as a real estate consultant after college graduation, he was to build one of the most outstanding skyscrapers in downtown Dallas as far back as the early 90s, and he has not looked back since.

Maverick, meticulous and goal driven, he says “I came to the US by choice and design and I claim America because it is my country of choice’

Like him or not Ed Ejike Okpa continues to make waves in Dallas and across the United States.
