It was an exciting night as the NIGERIAN ASSOCIATION LAS VEGAS celebrated the nation’s 57th Independence Day with a fund raiser for its proposed Nigeria House, Las Vegas. The event took place at the banquet hall of the Santa Fe hotel & Resort in North Las Vegas.
Most of Nigeria’s top professionals, businessman and big pockets turn out, with support from other Africans. The event was chaired by Dr. Godwin Maduka, the owner of the largest medical franchise in Nevada, supported on the high table by notable Nigerians like Dr. Jerome Nwokike and his wife Dr. Maria Nwokike, Dr. Matthew Okeke and his wife Dr. Chinyere Okeke, Rev. Father Innocent Anyanwu, Dr. Charles & Mrs. Osigbe and others.
The well decked out guests were thrilled with exciting dance steps from The Nigerian Children Dance Troupe and the Nigerian Women Dance Group. The highlight was the performance by Nigeria Afro Hip-hop stars Brackett.
Donations and pledges poured out from people present. Deep pocket, Godwin Maduka challenged the audience to triple whatever was realized as donations at the event.
Top donations at the event include Dr. Matthew Okeke and his wife Dr. Chinyere (Grand Desert Psychiatrist Services) who shelled out $12,000; Dr.Jerome & Dr. Maria Nwokike (Oases Institute of Health Inc.) donated $10,000, Dr. Festus Ebonka (Nevada Health) – $10,000; Dr. Franklin Akioyame ( VIP Pediatrics) – $10,000.
Other donations include NALV President Dr. Evarista Nnadi ($5,000), Dr. & Mrs. Charles Usigbe ($2,500); Dr. Cletus Amadi ($2,000), Dr. O. Opara ($2,000)., Dr. Kofi Sarfo, a Ghanaian donated $1,000. There were also numerous other donations.
